I love your cross-curricular use of Tolkein. I was fascinated by his maps as a child - they are a great accompaniment to the stories and a good way in to maps and mapping in other contexts. Some of the projects schools are asking the children to turn their area design into a map as part of the planning process and it seems to be a successful appraoch. I hadn't thought of the music-making opportunities before - look forward to seeing where this goes. And remember to check out your elf and hobbit names at some point!
